Download Problem

I'm obviously having a bad day or my computer has developed a mind of its own!

When I attempt to download anything to my C: drive, the floppy drive starts up and runs and runs (up to a minute or more) before the download window opens up and the download begins.

I'm running Win98SE and Firefox browser. This has not happened before.

Thanks

If you have recently opened a file from or saved a file to a floppy, clear everything from the "Recently used" list. If I recall correctly (which is not necessarily the case), you can do that by right clicking on the Start button, left clicking Properties. Somewhere there is the option to clear that list.

Hello Miz:

Thanks for responding to my enquiry.

I have done as you suggested; however, I do not see "Properties" in the window when I right-click on the Start button. I went to "Properties" in the Start file itself but the notation about closing out a previously-used program was not shown in the Property window.

I'll search around and see if I can find that command.

Go to Start>Settings>Taskbar and Start Menu>Start Menu tab, click on Clear.

Hi Miz:

No luck I'm afraid.

I have stuck a floppy diskette in the drive and at least this seems to limit the drive's running time to about 15 seconds and then the download is sent to the C: drive folder. Very strange.

Thanks for your efforts to help me with this annoying glitch.
