Unhappy Format Problem

Hi

I reformated my pc. After the whole setup process etc. I'm missing 250 gig of my hard drive. Also when I go into control panel and then programs and features, there are no programs installed at all. Even when my pc started up it did not recognise that the soundcard was install. Anyone got any ideas? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thx

what programs not found are you looking for? do you have a second partition on your system? Go into your disk management and see if it shows your whole drive?

Hi

Before I formatted my pc I had 2 x 250 gig hard drives. (c) was named OS (D) was partition 1 and (E) was the recovery. I can't find adobe flash which isn't installed. Any other ideas? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thx

As I understand it, you have two separate hard drives of 250 gigs each...totaling 500 gigs. One has two partitions. Which drive or partition did you format?

When you format, you essentially wipe the drive clean. If the programs you're looking for were installed on the drive or partition you formatted, they and everything else on that drive or partition is gone. The programs will have to be reinstalled.

Hi

It seems that I had deleted all partitions. How do I recreate the partitions before I formatted my pc? So that I have (C)OS (D) Partition 1 (E) Recovery? Any ideas? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thx

Click Here to open a page with instructions.

Another set, from Microsoft, on this page.

If neither of those work for you, a Google search for "Partition with xp disk" (without the quotes), will give you plenty of other resources.

Oops, sorry, forgot I was in the Vista forum.

A Google search for "partition Vista" will give you quite a few resources. Apparently, you can resize partitions after you have Vista installed using Vista's Disk Management.

Hi

I've formatted my hard drive. Still having problems. Firstly, how do I create a recovery partition on one of the hard drives? Secondly, when I open either Windows Mail or Internet Explorer I get the following warning window. Titled: Windows no disk. The message reads, Exception processing message 0xc0000013 Parameters 0x75EF023C 0x84AF8E2C 0x75EF023C 0x75EF023C. The optins I have are Cancel Try again Continue. Any ideas? Any advice is much appreciated.

Thx
