Unhappy Second Life freezing PC

I can't seem to get Second Life to work on my PC at all. I click on the Connect button and it loads up all the way to the end of the progress bar. Then once it hits the end, my entire PC freezes. I can't click on anything nor can I use ctrl-alt-del to end the program. My only option is to restart.

Is there any way I can troubleshoot this? Here is my PC setup if it helps:

Video: ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500 128MB
Sound: SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit
RAM: Kingston 1GB DDR PC3200 Value RAM
CPU: AMD Sempron 3100+ at 1.81 Ghz
Motherboard: nVidia nForce3 250GB Socket 754 (From Epox # 8KDA3J)
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Does it happen on any other games?
