i heard using P2P and torrenting is legal in canada for downloading movies. just wondering if anyone knows this is true

False. Downloading copyrighted content without permission is illegal. Doesn't matter what type of media it is, or what technology you use to download it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is misrepresenting the law.

Howdy:

It is only legal to download MP3's etc in Canada. Movies are still a no-no.

Legislation has been tabled though that will make downloading or copying of movies completely illegal as it is in the US (copying as in filming them in the theatre).

That being said, don't get bit by anything and then expect help from any legitimate help forum.

Well call me old fashioned, I do not consider video tape and film to be the same thing.

Most people just use their cellphone. Camcorders are to bulky and obvious. They can't be charged but they can have them taken away until after the film is over as they are labeled a "distraction" to other movie goers.
