Hey there, I bought a videocamera about a month ago, I have tapped myself playing the drums and want to put it on youtube, when I installed all the software and everything the videos would play perfect through the software that they gave me, the file type in a MPEG-2, But I want it to play through windows Media Player, Youtube does not support MPEG-2, therefore I upload it, when I right clickt on the file and pressed to change how to open the movie the MWV would say it dosnt support the file.... Sometihng about codecs (in the pic) Does anyone know how to change my file from a mpeg-2 to a WMP??? PLEASE ME SPECIFIC!!!!!

Another thing, I want to do some editing with the video, after I plug in my cam in the comp, and press "Capture video from Camera" on Windows Movie Maker, it dosnt even register that its there, it says that there is no cam corder, this cam corder was over 1000 bucks, and If I cant get it to do some of the most simple applications, I dont see the need to keep it. Any help?

Thanx
Josh

Check the software to see if you can save/export as a MPEG-1, AVI, DivX or WMV

If not you will have to use a different authoring/editing or converter package.

Just because your camcorder doesn't work with WMM it doesn't mean it's no good.
If you only wanted a camcorder to work with that then maybe you should have researched it more before you purchased it.

WMM is pretty basic. If you didn't get any decent software then look into ULead, Cyberlink, Roxio, Pinnacle etc.

Also look at download.com for converters if you just want to go from MPEG-2 to something else.

It says its a MPEG-2 file and there no way to chnage it, my parents bought it in another province lol, I wish I were there to ask questions.

You can convert an MPEG-2 file to MPEG-1, AVI, DivX, WMP etc. using a converter program.

Check sites such as download.com

I used to use Ulead Video Studio.
I not use Cyberlink as they came with my graphics card.

You may want to download trials of those programs.
