Final Fantasy VIII PC edition problem

I installed Final Fantasy VIII from the PC CD and when I run it, only a black screen appears like its loading, but nothing else will happen no matter how long I wait. Does anyone have a solution.

Have you tried reinstalling it?

Same thing happened to me when i was playing Resident Evil 4,
I increase the virtual paging file of my computer and the game is now running fine.

oops i forgot to say, reinstalling also doesnt fix it
