Rainbow Six Vegas (Graphic card)
Hello all,
I have a PCI-E x16 slot. I was wondering, really confused about graphic cards and also frustrated by a limited availability. I found Sapphire X1550 512 MB $100.00 XFX 7600 GS 512 MB $175.00 Gigabyte 7600 GS 512 MB $170.00 Gigabyte 7900 GS 256 MB $325.00 MSI 7900 (I think 512) $195.00 Gigabyte 8800 GTS 640MB $650.00 Now comparing the prices the cheapest to buy will be the X1550, but how will it perform on Rainbow six Vegas? I kno 7900GS is the best choice here but its also expensive! and don't even talk about 8800. As you can see everything is so expensive here!! I live in the middle east so getting online stuff is hard as 80% don't ship here, the ppl who do ship here have similar prices. and also the wait!! Any comments and advices guys? which is good to go? I played Rainbow Six Vegas at a friend's place during weekend and liked it a lot, played it on Xbox 360 though, but want to get it for my PC. Thanks in advance for the help. My PC specs are in my signature.

I think if budget is your worries, then the XFX 7600GS would be the one to go for. It should play it at high settings very well. X1550 is a crap card, from what I have seen.

I can't sign up for that website because they only allow either Jordan or UAE residents, I'm living in Oman. I saw Gigabyte X1600 Pro same price as the Gigabyte 7600 GS, is that any good?

just fyi....i have dual X1800gtos and a relatively high end core2duo cpu and still don't get anything above 35-40 fps in rainbow six vegas everything maxed out-basically this game isn't a walk in the park to get good performance out of anything other than that 7900gs or 8800 will make you feel like your comp was pulled out of the stoneages...no joke. and if you get a 7900gs MAKE SURE you enable hardware skinning in the video options since that card will be better than you cpu
