You can download Real Player Alternative for free. It's just the codecs. When you install it, it will give you the option to make Real player the default player for movies, music, etc. It's kinda cool because it's not as aggressive as the conventional Real Player would be. It won't just take over, it does what you tell it. Hope this helps.

I guess I don't quite understand the question. Any WMP movie can be played with Real Player if you install the codecs. Is that what you're trying to do?

What i am trying to do is create real player files from wmv files so I can send to a site that only accepts real player files. Sorry if I am not making sense!

SUPER is great, as is MediaCoder (http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/), but neither of these will encode to RealVideo. It's highly unlikely you will find a free encoder, since Real is a proprietary format and requires purchasing a license to encode. You should send an email to the website, asking why they use a costly, inferior proprietary video format, and what freeware programs they recommend to convert to it.

You might take a look at RealProducer Basic (http://forms.real.com/rnforms/products/tools/producerbasic/index.html). It's Real Network's free-for-personal-use version of their full-featured RealProducer Plus.
