Hello,

First of all I want to say thanks to everyone who's always helped me through my numerous PC problems. :)

I'm in an unknown area here. My main system drive took a turn for the worst last night and now I'm struggling to figure out how to backup my outlook express messages/accounts/etc. Problem is, I don't know how to access the registry of my XP Pro sp2 install from this OS ( Using my backup Win2000 install ).

Most all of the guides I've read involve actually opening outlook express from the registry in which the messages existed, and backing up through the program itself. The others, as mentioned before, explain how to use the registry to back up.

I am paying for my laziness now because my last backup was over a year ago :(

Thanks in advance.

If you want to do it manually then in OE goto Tools>Options>Maintenance>Store Folder

This is where your emails are stored.
You can copy the Outlook Express folder to backup all of your emails.

To save accounts goto Tools>Accounts and export the accounts.

You can get backup programs. Search download.com

Much thanks! I just had to switch the store folder to the original location. Worked like a charm. :)

Now I just hope I don't get hassled with this hard drive warranty.
