Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum, and am having a problem with my computer. A couple of months ago, I copied a bounch of windows media files to DVD-RW. At that time, I tested them and they all worked fine on my computer (compaq presario V2000, windows XP). Anyway, I pulled them out today and my computer doesn't recognise them. It thinks I am inserting a blank CD into the drive, and gives me an message something like, "Blank CD - What would you like windows to do?" The icon in "my Computer" shows DVD-RW however. When I click on it, it is just blank - no files appear.
I tried the DVDs on my girlfriend's computer and they work just fine. In addition, I can play audio CD's and video DVD's (like movies you buy from the store) on my computer without any problem.
I can't think of any changes I have made to the computer since burning the DVD's, except maybe installing a printer.
Any advice would be appreciated, as I NEED the files on these DVD's for work.
