Hi Kurayami and welcome to CTH. Can you post the exact error message please. Can you also tell us if you can boot into Safe Mode (restart your computer and tap F8 continuously as it restarts).

Ok, download mcrepair.exe from here (http://download.microsoft.com/download/msninvestor/Patch/1.0/WIN98/EN-US/mcrepair.EXE) and save it to a floppy. Boot into Safe Mode and copy it to your computer. Run mcrepair.exe and reboot afterwards.
(When you run this executable, it asks you whether you wish to overwrite newer files, make sure to click YES for each file.)
It should replace the missing file. Let us know if this helped.

Cant you also restore that file from your Win98 directory using SFC?? (System file checker) I know i have used that program before to grab files from those cabs and what not......
EDIT:
Maybe not,i just tried it and i dont have that file.....

Oleaut32.dll missing program can not be startedI do have this file (I missed your correction on the filename earlier) and i have uploaded it for you here > http://files.ww.com/files/34437.html
It goes in your system directory... It is version 2.40.4522
Good luck!
EDIT:
You probably can restore this file with SFC from the cabs! (Just for reference)

Dont forget to post the full instructions on how to restore the file using SFC The Dude (step by step in case Kurayami doesnt know how to do this). Assuming of course that he couldnt download either mcrepair.exe and your uploaded version of Oleaut32.dll. :D

Oh yeah i forgot!!
1) Goto START,RUN and type "sfc" and then tick the second circle and enter that filename into the blank "Oleaut32.dll" and click START
2) Choose to restore the file from C:\Win98
3) Make sure the second field says "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM" then click OK
That should do it :)
I extracted my original Shell32.dll file from the cabs so i could remove the arrows from my icons last year.. And i have also extracted a few other files also :)
