So i will be starting college in the fall and i am going to be purchasing a laptop. i have 2000 to 2500 to spend. i want to get all of my moneys worth becuase i will have to have this laptop all four years of college. I have been doing some research comparing specs and such and i was just wondering if anybody had any suggestions. I have always wanted a mac book pro and with the new os coming out that looks promising...so what does everyone have to say?

If you are going into business or something similar then forget macs. You will need pcs because most of the software you need for the courses will need windows. If you are going into arts then maybe macs will work. You will need to do your own research with the school you will be attending.

Graphic Design would work with a Mac, but for webpage design, stick with a PC. Though a PC with all the right software and hardware can still do for both and would be cheaper. And if you're PC now, learning a Mac can be frustrating. From an Ex MacAddict. ;)

I'd go with a Mac. I'd also go with something easy to carry around. I used PCs most of the time, but had to start using a Mac for work. It did take some getting used to, but you get the hang of it eventually.
