When I first start playing games online (such as halo), it works fine for the first few minutes but then I cant move and everything around me continues moving (including other players) When i check the Network Properties it show 2mbps, when it is supposed to be 11 mbps. The internet doest work at all unless i click repair on the network properties. This only happens when gaming online. I have Bellsouth and im using wi-f-. Thanks fpr the help.

i beleive you are getting a bandwidth choke issue, Many new games take a broadband connection to function. Correct me if im wrong but is your connection dialup/DSL. If so this could be causeing some of the problem. Beyond that wifi or any other wireless connection for that matter is not lossless and you are probably loosing more information on that. the further your computer is away from the router or wifi hub or wutever you use, the worse you connection is going to be (especially if the signal has to go hrough walls or floors).

Are there any other computers on your network using alot of bandwidth at the same time?

it could be some compatability problem with somthing inside your computer. try updating drivers, go inside make sure everything is seated properly, While you are in there check for dust, blow it off with a spray duster (you can find at walmart/radioshack etc).

check with your isp to fnd out your connection speed, then check the specifications on the game for a minimum requirement, if you only meet minimum requirement then it is not enough if you are useing wifi (as your connection speed less then the normal speed over wifi). If this is the case you need to either find a game that you can play or get a new isp.

What is the make/model wifi card and router you have, they may be choking your bandwidth if they are old.

if everything else is ok (isp/router/wificard), try moving your computer closer to the sorce of your wifi, if this doesent work try wiring it directly to the modem or router
