pc: winxp, amd athlon 64 3500+, 1 gb ram, geforce 7900gt, pc-case: antec sonata II 450V.

Whenever playing a bit heavier game, there is a "zoom" sound, louder than usual. It seems like it's from the fan-area at the back-side of the case, from a fan spinning really fast or anything to make the loud zoom "noise". I'm not really sure where the sound is exactly from and what part causes it.

you really need to try to pinpoint the noise. Open the case and run the computer as normal, then try to recreate the noise and see exactly where it is coming from.

Sometimes fans will get out of balance if dusty and will make noise. While the case is open, make sure its dust free and no wires are in the way of any fan blades.

The sound is probably from the big fan, I'm not really sure what part it is. But I also hear the sound when no game or any program is running at all, except a few light prog. The spinning sound has a few high tones, which makes it annoying.

you should try cracking open your case and do some "dusting" - go buy a can of air and move some of that dust around - or if you have a vacuum that can "blow" instead of suck - that would work too.
