keyboards are diswasher safe!

if you can live without it for a week. My luck it would melt because of the cheap plastic on the one I got.

I was just hoping my keyboard wouldn't have to be replaced. After its ordeal in the dishwasher, I let it air dry for a week. Then I plugged it in and started to type. I tested the space bar, the return key, all the numbers and letters. It seemed perfect.

on those older keyboards, its easy to take out the electronics
then just put the casing and buttons in the wash

Yes giving your keyboard a bath isnt a bad thing.... (Just make sure to let it dry completly before applying power)

You also have to be careful of the quality of water. There are a lot of sediments in tap water that could settle on a board and cause arcing.

I've done the above with distilled water. Works fine as long as there are no batteries connected when washing and you don't apply any power until completely dry.

One time milk spilled into my Commodore Keyboard (In the top where the vitals are) I didnt know it right away and i turned her on... All kinds of wierd colours,etc........

I turned it off and unhooked it,turned it upside down and out poured quite a bit of milk!!! (My kitty had knocked my cup over) I let it dry and later i plugged er back in and thankfully was ok!!!

I am so glad thats a LOW VOLTAGE system in that commie,i love my c64 and i wouldnt wanna lose it!
