Hey, I just got a laptop with Vista Home Premium on it and everything is going great I am actually happier then I thought I would be. So everything is working properly except Ares 2.0.5 and Limewire Pro. They are what I used to use on my old computer and they worked very well.

They both installed very well no problems. When I load them they load perfectly except Limewire does not connect even thought I have the firewall(Zonelabs) allow it to connect. That is ok I am not too bothered about that. Ares connects and I have downoaded music from it. Its just when I close Limerwire and Ares and close them on the system tray they seem to be closed but really are not properly closed. In the system processes they are both still running. Then when I try and shut down or restart the computer it takes ages to just go to he lgging off page because the computer must be trying to close them both or just one of them whichever one I had open.

I know it is these too programs that slow down the computer shutting down because it shuts down perfectly anytime I don't load any of them programs.

So does anyone know what could be wrong? I have tried reinstalling both numerous times. Or does anyone know any other programs like Ares or Limerwire that work very well with Vista? Thanks alot.

Let's see.. As you have already said you have used Ares to download music, now you are asking us how to get Limewire or some other program to woerk on Vista so you can download more copywritten material?

Okay.. you are having problems closing down Limewire and Ares correct? Could be others are tied into your system and downloading from you which would make the program "in use" and it won't close down until all activity has stopped.

Then, at the end of your post you ask for programs like the above two that may work better in Vista.

What have you downloaded thus far by way of Ares - song names.

Why do you want to know?

Because we don't provide support for illegal activities and downloading copywritten material is illegal.

So, I am closing this thread. If you feel this is unjustified, please PM me explaining your position.
