from the Microsoft site "This problem occurs because a legacy application may install drivers that are incompatible with Windows Vista. "

you might want to check your drivers

The cd dvd rom was working properly at first. Then put i itunes on it and that seemed to cause this. All my drivers have been updated. Thanks for any feedback on this issue.

Howdy and welcome to CTH:

You really should check first to see what programs will work on Vista. Itunes isn't one of them.

However, both Apple and Microsoft have tried to come up with a FIX.
