Hey, i recently bought a dell inspiron 6400 which arrived one week ago (thursday 21st june 2007) and when i got it, i was really pleased. its installed with windows vista business and the features on it are really cool. except there are two LARGE problems with it.

the first one is that when i play a song, or anything to do with windows media player, it takes AGES for it to load and play :hmm: it takes about 45 seconds to 2 WHOLE MINUTESS to load a song. and this is using an intel pentium dual core processor, and considering that my old windows 98 computer with an intell pentium 3 processor can play songs INSTANTLY i know this is problem. so please if anyones got any help with that, im all ears.

my other problem is to do with the amount of space on the hard drive. when the computer was brand new the space left over was about 98 gigabytes (with a complete hard drive of 120 GB) assuming that te other 22GB were used on windows vista and sample pics/songs, i was pleased with the amount of space i had. a few days ago, i came across a website with loads of free movies on it to watch (www.tv-links.co.uk) and i watched quite a few videos on there for free. however, after recently looking at the space yesterday night, i found out that the hard drive now has only 75 GB left. ive only stored about 2 albums plus a few photos which should take up no more than 2 or 3 GB but theres theres like 20 GB missing! which is serious stuff O_o i think it may be storing them in some temportary folfer on the C: drive but thats just a guess. i really need to know where on the C: drive it could be using all this space so i can delete it because at this rate, my space should be full within a couple of weeks :|

thanks all

Try running Disk Cleanup (Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools), too.

This laptop is advertised as having an 80gig hard drive, did you specify a larger one?
