Is it true that they haven't got 3G? I'll stick with my Nokia N95. More than happy with it.

I'm sorry but, SONY would do a better job at CellPhone. The PSP could have been a Cell Phone. On Iphone and Ipod the battery apparently is hard to take out, unless you know what your doing and hard drive you more than likely can't take out and upgrade. I like the fact that I can upgrade my computer. Portable devices should have the same ability. You pay an arm and a leg for those silly Apple Devices and they just become a hassle. No thanks, SONY and Microsoft all the way.

I've got a Sony P990i Djoe. It's got loads of flaws, admittedly, but I have pulled down some excellent downloads and done a few hacks and kludges. Now it's a very good phone, word and excel writer, wifi browser, mp3 player, games machine etc.
May look like a house brick mated with a tv remote, but I look like a gimp with a k-razr in my meaty hands! I rarely loose it when I put it down!

Julie, get it, its easily the best phone ive ever had. Dont even know if I should call it a phone.
I have a program called fring on it, so I can connect to my wireless router at home and then use skype or msn through my home broadband.
The camera on it is amazing. I took some pics quite recently and they rival many digital cameras.
The wireless connection and internet browsing is good.
The media player is excellent. I have a 2 gig card in it with loads of my songs.
I could go on and on.

just saw you have to go through apple to replace the battery (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070705/ap_on_hi_te/apple_iphone)on the iphone. The more I hear about it, the more it seems to be a ripoff and the more I dont want anything to do with it.

Its definitely not a business device. Face it people, its a toy. A $600 toy. How much music and movies can you store on 8 GB? Not enough to pay $600 for it. For anyone that has used a touch screen phone, can you imagine trying to type out an email with a touch screen? It would take an hour. Its all hype.

about as bad as a crackberry with the dual butons, I'd imagine Mr BB!
Now I've got a house ful of teenagers and work as a geek so I'm pretty au fait with gadgets gizmos and gee-gaws, but damn are those 7100 serries crackberrys a nightmare!
*EDIT* Forgot to mention Dan, I use a Sony Ericson P990i day in day out, that stylus is it's saving grace (though it does randomly capatilse the lettter "D" - more a user prob, I'd guess).

With PSP you can remove the battery easy at least. I wish my PSP had a touch screen keyboard. PSP can hold just as much memory.
Blackberry's have had worser problems than the iPhone.

Regardless, it is still easier to type on a device with actual button, rather than a touch screen. I myself have a Blackjack and love it, and I have also set up numerous Blackberry's. I set up a phone, (don't remember the model), that had touch screen, and it was a nightmare to type on, much less dial while driving. I also hear that Exchange and Iphone don't get along.

"Top ten reasons you shouldn't buy an iPhone" (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,288701,00.html)
Its funny if you read the whole thing, I don't know if I agree with all of it... but it is interesting none the less.

I'd never buy apple mobile devices. On TechTV's Attack Of The Show, it looked like the guy typed faster on the iPhone than the one that had an actual mini keyboard device.
Looks like iPhone has some copyed features that Microsoft Surface has.
I wonder if the WindowsPhone will be next?

Not planning on buying something made by Apple, especially on a phone yet.
The touch screen is simply a waste of time (as mentioned numerous times above)..

The only thing that looks good from Apple is the Mac Mini and is lower in price, although must be expensive to make upgrades.

It didn't take long. The iPhone has been hacked, according to the New York Times. A team of computer security consultants said they could take control of a person's iPhone through a WiFi connection or by tricking users into going to a Web site that contains malicious code.
Although Apple built considerable security measures into the device, according to Charles Miller, the main analyst for the firm, "Once you did manage to find the hole, you were in complete control."
So far, there's no evidence that the flaw has been exploited, and the firm generously offered to sell Apple a plug-in to fix the leak. Which would ease our worries completely, except Miller is described as "a former employee of the National Security Agency," and we all know how hesitant that agency has been to spy on American citizens.

Leo Laporte on TechTV was very helpful on how to secure a router, its really a matter of understanding security from an expert before going ahead and listening in for security risk.
One thing I've said and most people haven't listened to, is that they should wait 6monthes or even a year before purchasing any new hardware or software.
When WindowsVista was released there was still hardware issues and security flaws and before thought it would be the best OS yet, I was wrong. Good thing I listened to my own and expert advise and stuck with XP.

I never really given much creed to any advise that says to wait 6 months or more before getting something. I have never had any problems with anything that I purchased newly released. IMO, most problems people have with newly released devices and software are because they did not do proper research to see if it would work with their current system or because they don't know what they are doing and messed something up.
That said, if people feel more secured about waiting before purchasing something newly released then theres no problem.

Hey, not always people, industry makes mistakes too. So, many issues have been spoted with WindowsVista, I can only stress for the meantime, stick with Win2000/XP/2003. Again anything below Win2000 Microsoft DOES NOT support as of July 2005.
