The audio and video on my CDs and DVDs comes out distorted and choppy.
However my games run smoothly with no distortion or noticable affect at all.
My computer says that the drivers on my video(Nvidia 7900 GS), and sound cards(the sound card is an integrated Sound Blaster Audigy MD) are all up to date, and the hardware is working properly.
What could the problem be? Is My DVD-CD player faulty?
My computer is only 2-3 months old, and I've been having these problems since day one (for the past few months I've been trying to fix it)
I've used a dry brush cleaner disk to clean my rom lens however even that picked up audio distortion,
Does that mean my lens is scratched?
Perhaps my DVD-CD decoders are faulty?
Dell has been as helpful as a hernia, and my troubleshooting programs can't find anything wrong.
I've checked the drivers on all of my hardware, and my computer assures me they are the latest drivers.
My hardware was top of the line when I bought it, and I was assured by Dell my Media Works would be sufficently supported.
My CD's and DVD's are scratch free,
My computer is safe, protected, and secured with multiple active scanners, plus a strict firewall.
There is nothing wrong with my computer other than my DVD-CD player, but whatever its problem is, does not for any reason affect my games.
Could it be my DVD-CD software?
I've had this problem since i recieved my computer from Dell via UPS, when I first hooked it up,
could delivery had harmed my CD-DVD ROM?...selectivley
I'm very sorry about this, and I greatly appreciate your help
