Vista and Wireless internet

Im running vista and i cant pick up wireless signal. I know my wireless router is good cause i can set up my gateway which is running Window's XP and pick the signal up fine and others in the area. So why cant my vista computer do this?

its a gateway mt3707 if that helps.

Start | Run

type in

CMD (hit<ok>)

New window, at cursor type in

ipconfig (hit<enter>)

What does it show, compare it to the XP machine (do same on it)
