Apparently Acid Pro is an alternative to Mac's GarageBand Software.

Is it system resource hungry and do you need to understand music or would I have to take some sort of music lessions?

TECH TV's *NEW* The Lab used a simple program GarageBand to create their theme song. Go figure the professional's are using these too.

System resource hungry? No. I currently have Acid 6 Pro loaded w/ a 36 track song and it is using 76MB of RAM and while playing it fluctuates between 0% and 11% CPU usage, on average it uses about 5% CPU and at idle (as expected) it uses 0% CPU. Of course if you start chaining a bunch of plugins for effects on individual tracks it's going to use more memory/CPU. What I have loaded now only has 1 effect on 1 vocal track via Acid.

As for needing to understand music.... it really helps. Anyone can make a bunch of noise in Acid by sequencing samples/loops together, but is it music? Sure, why not. Is it good music, well if the person making it doesn't understand music or musical theory at all, then odds are it's not going to be good music.

Hmm.. thanks for letting me know that!

Not bad on resource sounds like!

Yeah, maybe I'll consider some type music ed. don't want the theme to sound like a 5year old made it.
