Outlook has a configuration wizard in the accounts menu that you can use, but it is dependent on the type of account that you have (pop3, imap, exchange) so we need more details before we can help you with that (if this is a work network your admin can give you the details).
As for settings on LAN, once it is configured there is nothing special you have to do for a LAN.
