Hi all. I have two PC bases which I use for different things, but only one monitor, which I use for both. One PC has Win XP and the other has Win 98. When I use my Win XP computer, I can change my screen resolution from 800x600 all the way up to 1280x1024. But when using my PC with Windows 98 on it, I can't increase the screen resolution from 800x600. Does anyone know why this is the case, and more importantly, can anyone help?
Thanx!

If it's an older video card, it may not be able to provide a screen resolution higher than 800 X 600. If it did let you set a higher resolution at before but now it doesn't, you probably just need to reinstall the video card drivers.
In Windows 98, right click My Computer, left click Properties.
Go to the Device Manager tab, double click "Display Adapter" and then double click on the video card listed there.
In the window that opens, go to the Drivers tab and click the Reinstall or Update or whatever the button says (working from memory here). Step through the wizard and see if Windows can find and reinstall the drivers.

Howdy:
Your resolution will be dependant on the video card you have installed and the drivers.
Make sure you have the latest drivers and even with that you may not get past the resolution you have now.
Solution.. get a new/better video card.
