Hi everyone,
I have an LCD tv that i would like to use as a monitor. Would a female VGA or DVI to male component lead do (like what is used for projectors) or would it have to go through an amplifier or converter box of some kind?

You can use that set up G.
I use a male to female DVI/VGA convertor and it works a treat.
I also use S-video plugged into my 50" plasma as well:D

None of those magical boxes needed then for VGA to component leads?

Mr Bean must have read your post wrong
DVI and VGA cannot be converted to Svideo/Component passively
A VGA to Component Box is needed

Thanks guys,
I think you are right Chingy. They seem quite pricey so I might wait until the insurance payout and just replace my monitor (I had my house burgled and one of the things taken was my monitor.).
