Pointing Device
I'm attempting to conserve resources in Vista. In the lower right corner an icon for Synaptic Pointing Device appears. Is it important and can I turn it off with out affecting the computer operation?

I believe this startup provides quick launch to your touchpad features. I would doubt if it would make any difference to resources if you disabled it jdunn and you may lose the ability to some features such as scroll if you did.
