ok, i dont really know how to explain it but sometimes my computer will completely freeze watever its doin at the time, make ten clicks or pounds or weird noise, then go back to normal...and then every once in a while it will make like 2 clicks then stop clicking and the computer will go back to normal but the sound doesnt work and trying to load like audio files wont work either. while its in this non-audio mode sometimes it will freeze make some painful scratching noises and go back to its non--audio mode or kick back to normal...it stopped for a few months but then came right back...its so hard to do anything with it doing these things like every 3 to 5 minutes and i really want to know wats going on so any help will do...it is shared with 3 or 4 ppl but i know nothing bad is really done with it...just some games like World of Warcraft and the sims...one user said it starting happening after the latest windows XP update we received...PLZ help!!

If the clicks are coming from inside the computer case and not from the speakers, the chances are it's the noise made by a dying hard drive. Clicking/scratching sounds are classic signs of a hard drive close to failure.

If the noises are coming from inside the case, I suggest you back up any data you don't want to lose as soon as possible (documents, pictures, music, addresses, etc.).
