Hi, can you run 2 spyware programs together or will they conflict with each other like using 2 anti virus programs would.

I'm using windows defender & I just d/l'ed comodo boclean.

W/D has real time protection & a scanner
Comodo is only realtime.

Yes, you can use two different spyware scanners. In fact, it is a good idea to scan with different programs as they don't always find exactly the same things.

Yes but is it ok to always have 2 running at the same time
for real time protection ?

I don't know specifically if you would want to have them both running actively at the same time. I use Windows Defender as the active program and then do scans with Spybot and AdAware. I also always run CCleaner before doing the scans as it gets rid of all of the junk and it speeds up the scans.

Using this method, I haven't had any problems. I think running two spyware programs actively at the same time is a bit of overkill, but I honestly can't say that they will conflict with each other like antivirus programs do.

Just my thoughts.

Norton and Ad Aware or Norton and Spy Sweeper work well together and I have had both running at the same time. Usually it is best to run one at a time.

One thing to remember, each program is only as good as it's latest upgrade.
