I am attempting to broadcast the audio playing through my Dell Inspiron through an IP Address. Ultimately, I want to pick up the signal on my Roku Soundbridge so I can play it over my stereo. However, I am confident that the signal is making it to the roku because, I can get the signal to broadcast using my Microphone as the recording device.

When I select my "line in" as the source all I get is static.

Can anyone help me diagnose and determine why my "line in" is not sending the signal through Oddcast?

Perplexed,
bam

Ok, more information:
I AM able to set up everything through oddcast on another computer. So, it must be something to do with my dell inspiron. Any ideas before I call Dell?

are you able to get any input to your computer from your line in. Try testing this by recording something to your computer (start -> programs -> accessories -> entertainment -> sound recorder) with using the line in as the input and some sound on the line in. If this plays back properly then it is a problem elsewhere. If it does not play back, check that the volume settings for the line in are right or try plugging the line in jack into the microphone in jack and test that.
