Outlook 2003 Extremely Slow

My Outlook is extremely slow in opening emails, even when I attempt to open emails that have been previously opened. I've done a detect/repair which reinstalls Outlook to no avail. I've also changed my antivirus package from McAfee Security Suite to CA Security Center without an impact. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm using XP SP2.

Is the rest of your computer slow as well (opening files, programs, etc.), or is it just when opening emails in Outlook.

Great question: No, only opening Outlook emails is slow. This is frustrating as my inbox is pretty small and I've even emptied everything out at one point ... to with no impact.
