Taking an SS of a video?

Hi,
i am trying to take an SS of a video i watch in VLC - however when i try to, i paste it into paint and it's not an SS, the picture is moving - just in paint. Can someone help please?

The only way to do this is to turn the hardware acceleration down temporarily. To do this Right Click on the desktop, Click Properties, Click the Settings Tab, Click Advanced, Click the Troubleshoot Tab, and Move the Hardware Acceleration Slider to "None.

Move the slider back again when you have your photo.

In VLC, go to Settings->Preferences->Video, untick "Overlay video output". Same theory, but applies specifically to VLC.
