WINDOWS DESKTOP THEME
I downloaded a program from pcworld.com called WINxp Themes. It gave my win98 se the look of win xp. After installing, I didnt like the look so I uninstalled the program. Even though I uninstalled it, my desktop icons still resemble the xp theme. Is there any way I can go back to my original look.

Theme installations go pretty deep into WindowsXX. I am always "crying" here at Cyber Tech Help about uninstalls. Add/Remove Programs, or the uninstall script provided by programs, just don't have the dig-deep smarts to perform a clean swipe of all the components and changes to the registry that were made during the install. Uninstaller from Mcafee is what I use and I never have had one single problem with uninstalls since I've used it. There are a couple of things you can try. [*] Control Panel Add/Remove Programs Windows Setup(tab) un-check-mark Desktop Themes click on OK(button) [*] There is a hidden file C:\Windows\ShellIconCache delete it and reboot
