Hi,

Im having problems when booting my computer, which is a Windows 98 system. The error I get when I start is:
Disk Boot failure, Insert System disk and press enter.

I downloaded a win 98 bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm but am still being faced with the same error, only after I am prompted to remove disk first.

This means the bootdisk I downloaded isn't correct. Any other suggestions??

Thank you

Scott

Sounds like the machine's been told to boot from the C drive first rather than the floppy. You need to get into the BIOS to change the boot order to tell it to search for a boot disk in the floppy drive first.

If when you try to boot, you get no prompt on the screen to "Press xxx to enter setup" (where xxx is the name of a key on the keyboard), then the way to enter setup is dependent on which BIOS/computer make you have.

The more common ones are (performed when it starts to boot):
Hold down the Del key
Hold down the F1 key
Hold down the F10 key

If none of those work, there is a list on
on this DSL Reports page (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/4354) for some of the harder-to-find models.
