Question Having trouble installing Flash Player...

First off, I do need to say that I am fairly new at Linux.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04.

I have followed the instructions provided on Adobe's download site (downloaded the tar.gz, extracted it, navigated to folder, etc). But on the final step--the actual installation, I get this strange error message:

Quote:
ERROR: Your architecture, \'x86_64\', is not supported by the
Adobe Flash Player installer.
I have tried using the other two downloads that Adobe provides on the page, but neither will open in my Archive Manager.

Any help, or even the mere statement of what exactly my problem is would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Try this: under System>administrator>Synaptic Package manager= search for Flashplugin-non free. Install it from there. Hope this works for you.

I tried searching for what you told me, but I'm not getting any results.

When you get the Synaptic Package manager open (requires password)look on the tool bar at the top right for search. Open the search feature and type in Flashplugin-non free. If it doesn't find it you most likely will need to enable all repositories for Ubuntu software.
