Boot98SE.exe problem

I have a W/98 machine that MUST be repartitioned, reformatted, and W/98 reinstalled.

I downloaded boot98se.exe from bootdisk.com and expanded it to a floppy. I then booted with that floppy. It booted OK except that I got the message "MSCD001 not found...No valid CDROM device drivers selected. The CD-ROM is unusable even if I boot to Windows without using the floppy.

Any suggestions?

try a known good (or new) CDROM drive
