Please help me. I brought home a computer that originaly had win 95. I formated the drive and installed win98. Everything worked except the multimedia sound card and the modem card. I don't care about the modem because it will not be hooked up to the internet. But the sound card is a diamond multimedia card. I downloaded the setup program from their website and installed it. Now, the problem is that the computer will play an audio cd just fine. However there are no computer sounds and no the cd games have no sounds either. I do have the sounds listed under C:/window/media. But when I try to play them, the lever doesn't move. Under system devices there are no yellow exclaimtion points, and it says mwave device for voice modem is listed. When I pull up the volume control, Wave is listed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sound drivers and devices several times. Does anyone have any ideas?
