Add-on UIBHO.dll cause IE to close

I'm running IE6 and Norton Internet Security. 3 -4 times a day I get a message "IE has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close.
File : UIBHO.dll
Company: Symantec
Desc: User interface BHO Implementation.

I've went into the add-ons and have disabled this file, but the problem still exist.

Ideas!!

Thumbs up Disabling wont help

UIBHO.dll is a legitimate file. Its a SYMANTEC File as u mentioned. Its a Browser Helper Object embedded in IE by Norton products (esp. Norton Internet Security) for its Fraud Monitor feature.

Now 1 of the following things might surely help:

1) Since its a Norton file - Uninstalling & Reinstalling or even better and safe - REPAIRING THE NORTON INSTALLATION might work.

2) else see where this .dll file is located manually. open a command prompt. point to the folder where the file is manually located and execute the following commands. here what we are doing is unregistering and re-registering a dll file:

regsvr32 /u UIBHO.dll < HIT ENTER>

reboot

open command prompt again. point to the same path and type:

regsvr32 UIBHO.dll <HIT ENTER>

reboot

then open IE and see.

let me know about proceedings and what all have you tried so far.
