boot sector failure

hi everybody

i recently contracted a virus onto my computer, thinking that if i wipe the machine it would fix the problem i did so, i then found out that the virus had corrupted my boot sector after it wouldnt let me install windows it keeps saying

BOOT WRITE ! VIRUS CONTINUE Y/N

u cud solve the problem easy if i could press Y to continue but the computer freezes once that comes up

has anyone got any ideas of how to fix the problem???

ne help is welcome as i dont wana fork out for a new HDD

If you think it's toast, try fdisk /mbr.
