Hello. I'll keep it short as possible.
I was called out to a customer's office who is using a particular website that the State of Alabama requires them to use for court referrals.
They said,"Internet Explorer crashes when I close a popup."
It does, I tried it out, and you can browse til you're sick of the web, and if you don't allow any popups through the IE7 popup blocker there is no crash.
The site they use requires popups are allowed. It crashes once the first popup has had it's data entered and they close it.
I tried some other sites, and any that I allow a pop up on will cause IE7 to crash, not just the court website.
If you leave the popup open, and try to close any TAB or WINDOW it will still crash IE7. They have to allow popups on this site. I've allowed that site and it still crashes, I have totally disabled the IE7 popup blocker all together. It still crashes. I removed the second popup blocker (google toolbar), it stil crashes. It is malware/spyware/virus free.
I have removed IE7 via ADD/REMOVE programs. Reinstalled via download from microsoft's site....it still crashes.
Bottom line...if any popup is allowed, with or without any popup blocker installed or enabled, IE7 crashes upon closing. I've googled it, with little or no results. I gotta get this one fixed quick
