This time is just a simple question:
do you think that because I reinstalled the window 98 in my pc
I could loose the modem driver???
It looks like that because I tried to made the internet connection and I always get this message: window cannot find any modem.check the installation.etc....
Now, I don`t know why, but it looks that I don`t have any cd rom to reinstall my modem:mad:
.....suggestion???
Thanks...bye

Hi
do you have any info on the model?
you may have to eyeball the thing...
a modem driver CD?
it could look different than you remember
I have some with the word SUPERVOICE prominent on them (it's a fax program), and these have a cartload of drivers
(that it has drivers is mentioned in the fine print on the CD)

Hi riccia71,
See if d/loading and running Aida32 - Personal System Information (http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32) will help to identify the modem. When you have it installed, double-click on the AIDA32 icon on your desktop, then, in the right pane, click on Computer and then Summary. Scroll down to see if you find any information regarding the modem.

Hi guys, thanks x your suggestions.
I found a user`s manual at home.
The type of modem here mentioned is:
ITU-T V.90
Rocwell K56Flex
ITU-T V.34, V.32bis, V.32, V.22bis, V.22
It`s an internal modem, anyway,
My pc runs the window98.
Somebody told me that these drivers should be in the window98 cd rom. I installed again all the cd rom I have...but nothing happened.
Then I downloaded so many drivers from the net...
but I don`t understand why...it is still not working.
I don`t know.
thanks in advance

hi again
for generic drivers
(conexant bought rockwell)
http://www.conexant.com/customer/md_driverassistance.html
once you agreed, i suggest you first get the list tool
and look at the list documents
running the tool you should be able to tell you what modem you have.
you can download the generic HSF and HCF files for your OS, and try them...
if one of them works, you can then look at properties, more info, and use that info to find your manufactor drivers
OR, try this

:D I WAS WONDERING THAT MAYBE MY MODEM IS NOT WORKING BECAUSE IT IS TOO OLD AND MAYBE:confused: WITH THE NEW SYSTEM COMMUNICATIONS CANNOT RUNS PROPERLY.
THE POINT IS THAT WHEN I TRY TO CONNECT TO INTERNET MY PC CANNOT FIND ANY MODEM INSTALLED.
DON`T YOU THINK THAT COULD BE LIKE THAT?
I BOUGHT THIS PC 5/6 YEARS AGO...
BOH...

if it detected once, and you failed to install the drivers...
and by now you tried so many drivers...
it is likely it cannot find it because something gets in the way
so, search the hard disk for a file called ptuninst.exe , and run it
then restart the system into safe mode
remove all the modems you find in hardware manager
also remove all comports
then restart the system
it should find comports, (but maybe not)
run new hardware wizard
install comports it finds
it may detect there is a modem now
then just install modem, do not let it detect, choose own make, choose standard / generic k56
this could work, see
=======
something became very unclear with your last message.
whatcha mean?
it is an old system, and you recently added this modem?
or an old system that already had this modem, and you KNOW for SURE that the modem worked in it before you formatted, and now it don't

Hi there...it`s me again.
Sorry for my bed english...I meant in my previous mail that my pc is very old. The modem is inside the pc since when I bought it.
It always worked properly. This is the first time that it is having problems.
Anyway, yesteraday I removed the modem from the pc and the description on it is the following:
conexant RH56D/SP-PCI
R6795-11
B77611-4
9914 MEXICO.
I put it back and I inserted the window 98 cd rom to install the drivers but it didn`t work.
I don`t know.
Ciao

Since you can remove the modem OK, try this - take it out again, and start your computer without it. After a while, shut it down. Put the modem back in.
When you start again, the New Hardware Found wizard should run. If it does, you'll know what to do.
