Hey ya guys and gals. I just got my new lappy with Vista on it. I have it networked with my desktop that has XP Pro. everything works fine. But, I want to set this up where I can view all the files on the desktop pc and be able to view my partition on it.. I have about 200gig of stuff that I do need at times.
Is there any way of setting these to up to view all files and not just the public stuff?
Thanks.

I don't know about Vista, but on XP-XP I create the share on the box that has the files I need to access. I then limited access to those shares to my remote login and the local admin.

Hi Dodge, Good to see you around. ;^)
Take a look at this web page (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/network/evaluate/vista_fp.mspx) as a start and if you have any problems or questions just holler and someone will help out.

THanks Z1p. Good to see your still here to.
I looked at that page, But I still dont see how to get my xp pc to share the entire HD with my vista lappy. The file sharing on this xp machine seems to only want to share what i put in the shared folder. Am I missing something on that page?
