Have you tried removing the device from device manager and the letting Windows find it?

To do this;
Right-click on mycomputer and select properties
Then select device manager
Click on the plus sign next to CDROM and highlight the device
Click on the remove btton near the bottom of the window and than click OK untill you are out of the window. Then reboot your computer and let windows find and install the drivers for the CDROM.
