X Printing Panel

Does anybody know if this works with the Epson Stylus C40UX?

I tried the PCLinuxOS 2007 Live CD and couldn't use the printer. I saw two printer programs. One was for HP, I'm quessing since it had HP in the name, and the other was XPP. When I try XPP it can't see the printer.

EDIT:Yes, it works with the same computer using Windows XP.

Printing in Linux can be tricky. Look here; http://openprinting.org/printer_list.cgi for your printer and check it's compatibility with your Linux distro. You pretty much got to match a printer to your distro when you buy. I've found that Ubuntu has good compatibility with a lot of printers.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I saw it and consider this my main hope because my printer's page on the site you provided recommends it.

The instructions here mention Mandriva which PCLinuxOS is based on so my hopes are up.

I've tried to download Kubuntu about 20 times but the MD5 checksum says it's bad.

Even if you don't have my model printer please check if you have XPP and if you can browse it to see what printers it lists as compatible.

I found the answer myself where I didn't think to look. Somehow it always happens after I start a thread.

Thanks
