:dizzy: I have Comcast cable and am using a Motorola Surfboard modem. I have a Dlink 625 wireless router connected to the modem. I can connect my PC or laptop into the modem and get the Internet. When I try to connect via wireless, I get the "Page cannot be found". I connected the PC to the router using one of the ports and it will not connect to the Internet either. I can check the details using Network Magic and it shows no IP address. How can I get the router to get an IP address?

Have all the systems ready to connect to the internet. UNPLUG the Router and MODEM from the wall outlet. Then FIRST plug the router back in and wait about 45 seconds THEN plug the Modem in. That way the router is powered up and then when you plug the modem in it picks up the IPaddress and sends it to the router. Now you should be connected.

Thanks misterbadnback.

I tried your suggestion but it did not work. I even tried it with a "Mickey Mouse" router from CompUSA with the same results.

Here is the IPconfig results:

You may have to go into the routers setup and set it up some way. I don't really know anything about wireless adapters or routers so wait a while and someone else will be a round to help you out. Sorry I couldn't help.

Had a similar problem, due to the fact that my ISP allows a static address only. Use the addresses you obtained and enter them into the router by first specifying manual setting. You get into the router by putting it's address in the address bar of your browser, like any other web address. Most routers have an address like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

Talk to your router manufacturerand they will most likely take you through the motions.

When power cycling, you should power up the modem first, wait about 30 seconds, THEN power up the router. Also, if you are using cable, your router shoud be set in Gateway mode. Your wireless adapter shows as being disconnected, and you are showing an IP address for your local area connection. Is your computer connected through a network cable? Maybe try enabling your wireless connection in My Network Places.
