i'm moving from the cabling network to wireless... i have only two computers in my house, and i'm trying to do ICS wireless from computer number 2 (Laptop)

1) PC (Gateway) - Windows XP SP2 [wireless usb adaptor]

2) Laptop - Windows Vista Home Premium

now when setting up a wireless connection between the two, i can't seem to see the connection created on XP from my laptop (Vista)

so i created an adhoc connection on the laptop, which XP can see and connect to...

i set up the ip on my laptop and pc below

pc: (with internet sharing enabled)
ip - 192.168.1.1

laptop:
ip - 192.168.1.2
gateway - 192.168.1.1

i can actually do file sharing but i can't getonline on the laptop, i can get online when i connect the PC and laptop with Ethernet cable tho...

i tried making the account usernames and passwords the same on both computers but still no luck

i'm totally clueless on tackling this... anyone help me please

I have setup ICS maybe twice before so I know very little about it, but if I remember correctly, ICS doesn't like systems having their own static internal IP. I'm not positive but it seems like it needs to dole out IP's via it's DHCP server. Like I said though, I'm not positive on this one but you might try it.
