My operating System is the XP Home edition.

I was wondering what it means and what can be done when you are trying to accessing an internet site whhere you are told:

The page cannot be displayed.

There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

HTTP 500 - Internal Server Error
Internet Explorer.

I have tried the suggestions on the page that displays this information, producing no results.

Go to Google (http://www.google.com) and do a search for "http 500"....yielded a couple of million hits for me. In all of that information is bound to be a solution that works for you. ;)

LOL, that sounds like it shouldn't take a minute... :D

In IE, turn off Friendly HTTP error messages by choosing tools - internet options - advanced.
Then you should get the real error message and line number of the error.

We'd like to see it.
