View Full Version : Voice recognition in Office 2007 and XP ???

I have Office 2007 Standard and when I had Office 2003 it had voice recognition ability..I have been told it is now a Windows file you can add. Anyone got a clue??Thanks:confused:

Office 2007 doesn't come with speech recognition because it comes with Vista. But on XP, if you install Office 2003 first it will include the speech recognition, and upgrading to 2007 from there will utilize the feature.

Thanks for your reply...Upon checking, my previous Office install was "Office XP Pro 2002" Since it is now uninstalled and 2007 installed, can I get the speech recognition off the old version? If so, please advise how. Thanks

Since Office 2002 (aka Office XP) comes with speech recognition, I would assume you can use it instead in the same way as explained in my link.

Thanks for your help...I did uninstall 2007 , reloaded 2002, reloaded 2007 and it now works..
