We do not read logs in this forum. I am moving this over to our cyber safety forum for them to look at.

1st you need to delete all the temporary files, Internet Explorer temp internet files, Ccleaner (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/download/file/ccleaner)does a good job.

Also have you defragged the hard drive yet?

Tx. I've defragged regularily, as well as run several spyware cleaners. AVG as well. Tx for your help.!

Reference the use of Ccleaner. It has been pointed out to me that maybe it should not be used as it could remove files that you don't need to remove. I would now caution the use of it, unless you know exactle what the files are that you are removing. Hopefully one of our CS folks will look at your log. They are busy so please be patient.

A bit of a response delay here. No infection showing so far. You have Windows Defender, SpySweeper and WinPatrol all loaded and running here, which is very likely to cause slowdowns and possible conflicts with overlapping areas of protection. But these are more classified as anti-spyware softwares, and here you do not have a much needed antivirus software. Then with things like that WeatherAloud software I can see other options for rethinking what softwares need to startup and run on this system. Now that the log has been checked let's move you request back to the Vista forum for some solid ideas on improving the system performance.

As TOM said, you may have too much running in the background, most programs do not need to run in the background, you just open it when you want to use it.

To check what is running when VISTA starts do this:

Start | Run

Type in the following then hit <OK>

msconfig

Now go to the Start-up TAB

These are the programs running behind the scenes....

If you go to the Tools TAB and click it, then to Task Manager entry, highlite then hit Launch this will show you how much resources are being used by all programs running.
