Pages do not fully load backgrounds

Girlfriend has Toshiba Satellite laptop, with FireFox and IE7 will not load any background images, or colors. MSN.com has the 2 blue bars on right/left sides do not show up. Everything else on page looks fine. Myspace.com when going to view any profile if user has image for background it won't show, page just loads white. Everything else looks fine. Tried reinstall of both browsers, no luck. MSN.com when selecting page options link, color boxes show up but all are white as well. Ran McAfee, Spybot, Ad Aware programs, they find issues but fixing them doesn't fix issue. Tried system restore point, no luck. She's not sure when this issue came about, any one have any suggestions?

Tried in IE7 - View - Encoding to match my laptop (Dell)
Deleting Temp Internet Files
Lowering Security settings as low as possible, disabling pop up blocker
Internet Options - Accessibility - all 4 boxes are unchecked

Found these doing some searches different forum sites, no luck so far. She doesn't have her CD's, so I can't reinstall at the moment until we can locate those. I'm new to this site, and any help would be awesome! Thanks!

RYAN

Forgot the basic specs:

Toshiba Satellite A55-306
XP SP2 with auto update on
McAfee Anit-Virus - Updates automatically
IE7/Firefox - Updated to current versions
Updated BIOS, Wireless Driver
Have run AVG with nothing showing up
Added 512MB memory card to system to get 768MB
Her computer isn't great, but it was free, so can't complain I guess!
If any info is needed, I'll have to kick her off of MySpace to get whatever may be needed.

Well, I created another user in XP, and moved all of her files to the new user profile. The backgrounds in FireFox and IE 7 load normally. So I don't know what is causing it, but I guess she'll just need to use the new user profile. Couldn't fix the issue, so I this is the fix?

Tried...

Yeah, I tried taking the system restore back quite aways, but that didn't have any affect. She doesn't know where her CD's are that came with her laptop, so I will have to see if Toshiba has a set or something. If her harddisk dies, and she needs a replacement, I dunno what she'll do?!
