Hi Guys
I have 2 probs which I may have to post seperately....
I recently acquired a copy of Roxio Easy CD Creator Platinum v 5 so I virus chkd it and installed it. I also burned a copy of it as I got it off the 'net. All was OK til my PC threw a wobbly and kept re-booting itself for no apparent reason. After chking power etc, I found that a mains plug was loose but for a 7 port serial USB hub I have so it may or may not be that was the reason...but I ended up having to reload my computer from the manufacturers restore disk. Now, everytime I start my pc,after I reinstall Easy CD, I get a fatal exeption msg:
The 32-bit device driver CDR PWD(01)+0000AD23 has attempted to use a system service device which isn't loaded. It may be poss to continue normally. It also warns me that Direct CD hasn't been released which it didn't do before.
If I press any key to continue, the blue screen remains-unless I press 6 times then the windows melody plays and it start up?Any ideas please? My 2nd prob is in a seperate post :(
Thanks
Peachy

Hi Cody
Thanks for that but I already DID run full virus san and a de-frag AND a scandisk - all to no avail.
I'm surprised at what you say about Roxio Easy D Creator though as over here it seems to be the top sellng sofware - along with Nero - for CD Burning.

Can you suggest anything bette in its place a all?
Thanks

I agree with Cody. However it seems like you just performed a quick restore - saving your information. As opposed to the complete format. In such cases you must either make absolutely sure you uninstall Easy CD creator COMPLETELY, which may include manually removing ALL registry entries referencing Easy CD. After backing up the registry to a known location (My documents) perform a search for Easy CD and delete every stupid key that shows up, use F3 to advance to the next entry. Then you must reinstall fresh.

Curious though, if you have XP you don't need any burning software as it comes with the OS. Just throw in a CD-R and start copying using Explorer. You will run through some wizards but they are intuitive enough.

BIG NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL DIRECT CD ON A WINXP MACHINE - EVER!!!! YOU WILL LIKELY END UP BONED!
